In
the beginning this association was established in 1990 as Nepal
Laryngectomee Club under patronship of late Dr. Laxmi Narayan Prasad, the
first ENT surgeon of Nepal with joint effort of few laryngectomees,
speech Pathologist and two ENT surgeons of TU Teaching Hospital.
Later on in the year 1998 Nepal Laryngectomee Club was converted
into Nepal Laryngectomee Association (National Level Organization).
This is a
Single-disability organisation (organising people with same type of
disability)This
is a non profitable, volunteer and charitable organization with
purpose of rehabilitation, education and support.

NLA is dedicated to the total rehabilitation of the
Laryngectomee through training of the laryngectomee, spouses and
families. NLA aims at making each & every laryngectomee in Nepal
socially acceptable within his family, community and society by
providing them with communication skills through esophageal speech.
